The KITSPSD kit contains five instruments for conservative treatment (class 1 to 4 caries), from diagnosis to restoration of anterior and posterior teeth. It was developed in collaboration with Prof. Ivo Krejci (University of Geneva).
The instruments are exceptionally sharp and their weight is optimal. The steel tips have a Shadeline® carbon surface coating.

Kit SPSD x Prof Ivo Krejci

In the kit:

  • SPSD1 – small graduated probe (2-4-6-8) on one side, pointed explorer on the other side (ADEP yellow/black). Combines a periodontal probe, also used as an applicator and a plugger, with a pointed tip to shape fissures and bevelled edges. Essential for non- and micro-invasive treatments, it enables the application of adhesive and composite in very small areas (approximal or occlusal surfaces) for very small cavities.
  • SPSD2 – small sharp and rounded spatula (ADEP red/black). Very fine, to model and remove excess material, with easy access to approximal surfaces.
  • SPSD3 – modeling tip on one side,  rounded/flat plugger on the other side (ADEP blue/black). For all restorations.
  • SPSD4 – carver with Gracey-like angulations (ADEP green/black). Very fine instrument for “polishing” after the application of composite on approximal surfaces. It enables more delicacy and precision than a rotary instrument.
  • Mir-D DMS-N – Double mirror with anatomic angulations
  • Zirc sterilisation box for 5 instruments

Protocol for class 1 to 4 caries

Class 1 and 2 caries – Non-invasive
After filing the affected enamel surface (diamond tape for approximal surfaces or sandblasting for occlusal surfaces), apply the adhesive with the probe and spread it with PTFE floss, before air-blowing and polymerization. Use the SPSD4 carver to remove excess.
Class 3 caries – Micro-invasive
Create a small cavity and, after excavating the carious tissue, apply and spread the adhesive with the SPSD1 probe, before air-blowing and polymerization. Apply the composite with the probe little by little. Compact and shape with the SPSD1 probe and the pointed tip on the other side to create the fissures.
Class 4 caries – Invasive
After removing all carious tissue, reconstruct the tooth with the SPSD3 plugger and modelling tip. Apply the composite, remove the excess and shape the margins with the fine, sharp SPSD2 spatula.
